Fact 1- The inventor wore metal braces

The creator of Invisalign, Zia Chisti, was an adult orthodontic patient and found standard braces difficult to manage.
Fact 2- You need to wear them for 22 hours a day
Invisalign is a removable aligner and when you are eating or drinking tea or coffee (or any drink besides cold water), you need to take them out, as well as when you are brushing your teeth.
And in order for these aligners to work correctly, you need to wear them for a minimum of 22 hours a day, or as directed by our dentist in West Byfleet.
If you do not keep the aligners in, you may suffer from reversion, which is where your teeth move back to their previous positions or fall out of alignment.

The app is downloadable to smartphones and allows you to send our team selfies once a week. This isn’t all about just showing off your teeth, however. The photos will be analysed by our team, allowing us to assess if the aligners are working and whether you need to attend our surgery for an appointment.
It is worth noting that whilst fun, the selfies are not a substitute for the standard check while wearing the aligner, and you will need to see our team on average every 6-8 weeks.
Fact 5- They require specialist training
In much the same way as a regular brace requires the orthodontist or dentist to have additional training, Invisalign requires some extra qualifications too.
